My Nutrition Philosophy

Your eating habits are just as important, if not more important than your exercise habits and will be the key to getting the body you want. You’ve heard the old saying, “You are what you eat”, and I could not agree more. My philosophy on nutrition is to feed your body organic whole foods and forgo processed sugary and fatty foods. Your foods should come from the earth and not from a can. Let it provide you with the fuel and nutrients you need to sustain a happy and healthy lifestyle. As Hippocrates, a Greek physician, once said, “Your foods shall be your remedy. Let food be your medicine and let medicine be your food.”

My ideal food pyramid would have greens at the bottom, followed by fruits and grains and above that fish, meat and dairy. You see our nation struggling with obesity, cancer and diabetes, and then you look at other societies who do not have a word for cancer in their language. What are they eating? Natural, organic foods that don't have shelf lives, pesticides, or other chemicals to alter their natural state.

I am not a vegetarian, but I do eat a lot of uncooked or raw greens, fruits and nuts with a little chicken, fish, meat and dairy. I splurge every once and a while on decadent desserts and cheeses and I enjoy every bite without guilt. I feel energized when I eat healthy and my clear skin, bright eyes and shiny hair is living proof of my lifestyle. I have not been sick with a cold, or have gotten the flu in years and I attribute that to healthy eating and exercise.

As an added benefit to my training I give all clients who are interested nutritional counseling and advice.
